Wedding

This term we have been learning all about Christian Weddings. On the last day of term we had a role play wedding in our classroom. Here are some pictures of the happy couple and the wedding party.

Museum Visit

On Wednesday 15th June we went on a visit to Tankerness House Museum.

We were all very excited.  There was so much to see.



We all really liked watching the birds flying in the zoetrope.

Tag Rugby

The Story of 19

We have been learning the addition and subtraction facts for the story of 19.

 We went into the gym hall for some active learning.

 We were each given a cone with a number on, and then we had to find someone with a different coloured cone with a number on that we could add together to make 19.

We then wrote down the four facts for our two numbers.



We had to find two addition facts and two subtraction facts.

Knex Workshop

Earlier this term we had a session working with Knex. 

 First we had to work in pairs to create an alien.

 Then we had a go at building a cube.

 Finally, we had to build a space craft for our aliens to travel in.

Me and My Alien Friend

This week we have been writing imaginitive stories about our alien friends.

We made up our own alien characters, wrote about what our alien looked like using adjectives to describe it. We also wrote about what we did with our alien.

Then we drew pictures of our aliens and named them. Some of the names we came up with were: Kie, Splodge, Chocolate, Buck, Factor and James.

The last thing we did was designed spaceships for our aliens, some of them were called: Jocam 2000, The Panta Claus Ship, Star, Mojo Ship and Jack.

We enjoyed making up own own alien characters and writing our stories. 

Royal Wedding - 29.04.2011

We have been celebrating Prince William and Catherine Middleton's wedding today.  Some of us made wedding headwear at home and got dressed up for the occassion.




We watched the wedding live on our smart board it was very exciting seeing all the crowds and guests dressed up, and we couldn't wait to see William and Kate arriving at the Abbey. We thought that Prince William looked very smart in his uniform and we really liked Kate's dress - she looked like a fairy princess!

      
      

We designed some of our own wedding outfits.

We also had a go at decorating cupcakes, we put some blue glitter on them that you can eat.

                      
                    

In the afternoon we had a reception in the classroom. We decided on a menu of fruit, followed by hot dogs and cupcakes for dessert.

                         

Our favourite bits today were watching the wedding on t.v, having our food and we also liked it when William and Kate had a little kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace! It was all good fun and we really enjoyed the Royal Wedding.
